Kim Simac Takes Wealthfare
Eagle River Wisconsin -- WisGOP Tea Party Kim Simac,calls teachers, firefighters and police “mutinous cowards” even though these highly trained and educated people pay taxes and contribute significantly to their retirement savings and healthcare. The Simacs’, on the other hand, paid no Wisconsin income taxes in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008. And how is this possible, given the Simac’s corporate umbrella holdings http://www.gnaco, covering a 22-acre spread in the Northwoods, with a plumbing/drilling & excavating business, equestrian facility, book sales, RV park, speaking engagements, and, well, you get the drift.
You may have recently seen television ads suggesting that Simac is the candidate who would end welfare fraud resulting in cheats who take welfare money and then turn around and buy palatial mansions with large manicured lawns. Rather ironic, considering that the Simacs’, who paid no Wisconsin income tax all those years, turn around and take a “handout” from the government in the form of a farm subsidy: A “wealthyfare” handout, I might add, paid for by…you guessed it…hard-working taxpayers like…teachers, firefighters and the police, the very people that Simac vilifies.
Which kind of begs the question, doesn’t it: If the Simacs’ took one “handout” from the government…did they take other handouts? For example, will Ms. Simac tell us whether she has taken other “wealthyfare” subsidies…grants, special-rate loans…perhaps, even, foster childcare payments subsidized by the government. All-in-all, we’re rather shocked that a Tea Party “patriot” who believes in smaller government and promotes free-market “let the chips fall where they may” (Simac’s own words) would resort to taking “wealthyfare”…while sipping tea on their 22-acre ranch.
