Madison -- Tonight it is being reported by Journal Sentinel writer of the "No Quarter" Column Daniel Bice that another one of Scott Walker's campaign contributers has found himself behind bars. Bice writes:
"On Tuesday, authorities arrested Andrew P. Jensen Jr., a commercial real estate broker with Boerke Co. and a past president of the Commercial Association of REALTORS Wisconsin."
According to the No Quarter's inside source; Jensen refused to cooperate in the long running John Doe investigation into Gov. Scott Walkers current and former aides. Campaign finance records indicate that Jensen donated a mere $850 to Scott Walker's campaign though Jensen's employees at Boerke contributed some $12,500. (Sound Familiar?)
If not, the same investigation, William Gardener plead guilty in two felony cases against him for the same scheme. In April, we reported this about Mr Gardener:
Apparently the complaint says that Mr. Gardner asked several people employed by him to give $5000 to the Friends of Mr. Walkers campaign and then gave the money back to those employees.
So now we have two individuals, one convicted of having employee's donate to Walker and another behind bars refusing to cooperate and records indicating that he pulled the same stunt as Gardner. I doubt this is the last we will have heard of such campaign finance fraud. I also find it hard to believe that Walker knew nothing about these donations as Gardner's company received a large grant from the State of Wisconsin on March 11, 2011.
But what about Jensen? According to Jensen's Website, David Boerke is a part of the office team at the company and the interesting thing about this is that his son, Nick Boerke, according to his LinkedIn profile, was an intern with the office of Scott Walker legal team. Is this the same team that deals with FOIA requests and the like?
David Boerke was quoted in the Business Journal as saying "Dave Boerke, president of The Boerke Co., a Milwaukee commercial real estate brokerage. Boerke said Walker has done “a remarkable job” as county executive in improving Milwaukee County government."
I'm not so sure the citizens of Milwaukee would agree with that "pat on the back" statement, unless the part "A remarkable job" was changed to "A remarkable con-job". In either case, it appears that the walls are now closing in on Walker between the recall drive and the John Doe investigation.
